Group Spinal Release Yoga Classes

Spinal release yoga is a restorative and therapeutically oriented form of yoga. In classes, you are guided and supported through a thoughtful sequence of poses that release tension in the deep core muscles that attach to the spine. The result is a quieting of your mind, improvement of balance, range of motion, and a decrease in physical tension and mental fatigue. Classes include meticulous alignments to encourage spinal decompression; props such as thick blankets, blocks, and chairs to support the most effective release for your body; and personalized attention to support each individual student. Barbara draws to her a community of yogis who are in class to connect - with each other, with the practice, with a moment to lie on the floor with blankets and be taken care of for a few hours. She is easy going and clear in her instructions, and assists each student to express the most beneficial version of the poses to allow for the most healing. She is thoughtful, knowledgeable, and responsive.

Monthly Class Series

Tuesdays 7:30-9pm  -  All Levels

 

Group spinal release yoga classes are held as monthly series, with pre-registration for the series required. Series run typically for 4-5 weeks, depending on the month, and average to $17/class. Classes are capped at 12 students and are held at Emeryville Yoga at 1240 Powell Street, Emeryville.

Regular students registered for my yoga series also get access to my private Perks blog, where I share class sequences and other information from class to support your home practice.


Drop-In Classes

Tuesdays 7:30-9pm  -  All Levels

 

Space priority for the Tuesday evening group class yoga series is given to students who are able to sign up for the full series. When space is available, drop-in spots will be opened up for pre-registration. Drop-in classes are $22/class or I offer a package of 5 drop-ins for $105. 


Hybrid Class

offered periodically with invitation from Barbara, next date TBD

 

A hybrid between a private yoga therapy session and a class, where you will get extra attention and hands-on adjustments in the poses for maximum bliss and release. Each class includes release poses for the whole spine, hands-on adjustments, extra cozy propping, deep relaxation, silent pauses between the poses to marinate in the benefits, and lots of individual attention. Because these classes include hands-on adjustments and/or extra propping in each pose, there is a 4 student limit, and per class cost of $30. Contact Barbara for more information.
